Maybelline is one of my go to brands when it comes to drugstore mascaras and their newest release has really knocked it out of the park for me. I am absolutely in love with the new Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara ($12.99 CAD).

The packaging for this mascara is really fun. It has a shiny red cap, black middle, and metallic hot pink base. The design makes you think it’s a dual ended product but it’s not.

The brush is really, really unique. I can’t say I’ve ever seen a brush anything like this one before.

Let’s look at a product free shot to get a better look at the unique brush design.

It has these weird u-shaped, or cup-shaped, bristles. They are meant to scoop and lift the lashes. Looking at this brush I would think it would result in clump city lashes, but somehow it manages to separate beautifully. Maybelline recommends sweeping from root to tip with this mascara but I actually read that tip after using this mascara and my usual, wiggle at the roots and sweep up technique, worked fabulously as well. I am absolutely loving this mascara because it gives me amazing length, and a good amount of volume, all while leaving my lashes soft, fluttery, and clump free. I don’t know what it is, but I can’t stop fluttering my lashes in the mirror at myself all day long when I wear this. It looks way better in person than these pics. I mean these before and after pic looks amazing, but the same day I took these I kept looking in the mirror going… uggghhh so good. Why doesn’t my pic look that good?

My lashes feel super soft and touchable with this mascara yet still hold a curl. It lasts all day for me without any smudging or flaking and withstands the moderate amount of random eye watering I get most days.
