If you are looking for lashes that make an impact then you may want to check out the new Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara ($9.49 CAD).
This new mascara has a breakthrough open fan brush with 10 layers of bristles in 6 different lengths. This allows it to grab and coat every lash for a dramatic effect.
The formula uses very low levels of wax for a liquid texture that is intensely black. The formula is supposed to fan out lashes without clumps but personally I found the formula to apply with some clumping and it tended to bunch my lashes together. It does offer great volume as intended. I just happen to prefer more separation.
It is also promoted as being easily removed with water. Well I found this mascara an absolute bugger to remove. It’s great to know that I don’t have to worry about flaking, and smudging, and fading throughout the day but this baby requires some serious work to get off. I used a heavy duty oil cleanser and still had blobs of mascara with almost a latex like texture stuck in my lashes. Even the next day I had the remnants of removal left under my eyes. Perhaps a bi-phase eye makeup remover may perform better with this formula. This means I wouldn’t choose this as an every day mascara but with a lash comb in hand I would use this for special occasions when I want a little more drama for my lashes.
