Marc Jacobs has released a beautiful new sculpting product. The Marc Jacobs Beauty #Instamarc Light Filtering Contour Powder ($49 US/$59 CAD) is a duo of a highlight powder and contour powder available in three colour combinations.
The compact is quite large but very slim. It has a push button release and comes with a protective plastic cover and a generous mirror inside the compact.
Below is an image with one of the Marc Jacobs Beauty Lipsticks to demonstrate the size.
The 3 shades available are:
- Dream Filter 20 – soft pink/ medium bronze
- Mirage Filter 40 – light gold/ light bronze
- Hi Fi Filter 60 – warm peach/ deep bronze
The one I have to share with you is the darkest shade, Hi Fi Filter 60. Obviously not my colours but I can tell you about the incredible quality of these powders. I can’t speak to the other shade duos but both of the shades in Hi Fi Filter are matte. They have a deliciously velvety soft texture with no powdery kickup whatsoever. This means they meld with the skin to give a gorgeous, natural satin finish. No flat dull matte here. The powder feels luxurious and creamy thanks to the botanical ingredients inclusion of vitamins A, C, and E.
The pigmentation is exceptional. Rich, pure colour that gives the desired effect without having to pile on product and blends seamlessly into the skin to naturally sculpt and define your features. Even given how dark this palette is for my skin I could easily use the contour powder on my complexion with adequate blending.
I had a heck of a time getting this to photograph properly as the contour powder keeps coming off warmer than it is while the highlighter comes off more yellow and less peach tones than it is. The closeup pic is the most colour accurate with the contour being a little less warm. Each powder is 0.31 oz for a total product weight of 0.62 oz.
Have you tried any of the #Instamarc Powders? The quality of the #Instamarc formula has be dying to check out the lightest offering Dream Filter 20. Please let me know if you’ve tried it!
