I have been testing out the Marc Anthony Repairing Macadamia Oil line of hair care products for the past few weeks. The past few weeks I have also been very hard on my hair with some rather abusive colour processes. You may have noticed I have gone from red to strawberry blonde. Sorry hair! This means it couldn’t have been a better time to test out the repairing and restorative claims of this Macadamia Oil and Bamboo Extract infused trio.
Hair repair from the inside out. For hair that needs some
serious TLC we look to nature’s hidden hair gems – Macadamia Oil and Bamboo.
The Repairing Macadamia Oil™ collection is formulated with Macadamia Oil; an
extra lightweight oil with a similar consistency to natural body oils that
easily penetrates the cuticle for deep hydration. Coupled with Bamboo Extract,
it is a strengthening and restorative duo for damaged, lifeless hair. Bamboo Extract
contains protein which helps retain moisture in the hair shaft and assists in
filling and smoothing the roughened cuticle of damaged hair. A rich source of
Silica, it has incredible strengthening properties for hair. This is truly
luxury hair care.
I did have some reservations when I began testing these products. They are sulfate free. Yay! So that criteria for my hair care had been met. The conditioner and styling oil did, however, contain silicones which is another ingredient I have been trying to avoid. I try to avoid the buildup of silicones on my very fine hair. Even though it does aid with the frizz. I decided to go ahead and test them out anyways and so far so good. I have not noticed any ill effects from the silicones in the products. I have been very stingy in my use of the hair oil though just in case.
Considering the trauma I have imposed on my hair the past few weeks, and the fact I have received compliments on how healthy it has managed to continue looking, I would have to say Marc Anthony is doing something right with these formulas. The products have an intoxicating, exotic scent that reminds me of a tropical beach. My hair has felt soft and in good condition. It has been shinier than the norm for me and frizz has been fairly well controlled. I haven’t noticed either an improvement, nor detriment, to the formation of my curls. Marc Anthony claims these products will transform dry, damaged strands into shinier, smoother, healthier looking hair and my experience thus far has been a testament to that.
If your hair doesn’t have any strong aversion to silicones, and you have dry, damaged hair concerns, I definitely recommend giving the Restoring Macadamia Oil products from Marc Anthony a try. They are available at Shoppers Drug Mart/Pharmaprix, Walmart, and other retailers with a suggested retail price of $9.99 each.
