This week was a little bit crazy for me so unfortunately my blog suffered so my apologies to all of my loyal followers. Fortunately I did manage to snap pics of my looks most mornings before I left for work this week and this week has been the week of Penelope.
Le Metier de Beaute Kaleidoscope Eye Kit in Penelope is from their new Mediterranean inspired Summer 2011 collection. I was fortunate enough to win her through a contest offered on Le Metier de Beaute’s Facebook page. When I first saw the promo pics of Penelope I was blown away by her beauty and unique combination of colours but at the same time wondered whether she would work for me. Well Penelope is really a work of art. There are so many ways to combine the colours and different looks that can be achieved with this palette. Here are some I wore this week.
The first day I tried Le Metier de Beaute’s Couches de Couleur technique layering the top three shades on my lid into my crease and then intensifying near the lash line by adding the fourth shade. The result is a beautiful, although I find for me personally this technique isn’t the most flattering for my hooded lids. I find I need more definition in the crease using the more “typical” outer v application.
The second day I decided to do my more standard look using Black Emerald in the outer v. I know this may be too dramatic for some but my sad hooded lids hide most of the drama 😉
On day three I did a more subtle look just layering the first two colours (Blonde Amber and Pale Satin Amethyst) on my lid, third colour (Bronze Topaz) in my crease and the fourth colour (Black Emerald) to line.
