This week for Makeup Wars we are sharing some of our favourite foundations and BB creams. I have fair skin that is very dry and dehydrated. Sometimes I can have some flakiness around my nose and on my chin. What I look for in a foundation is a formula that will even out the redness in my skin while covering up some of the hyper pigmentation. I need it to have a natural or dewy finish so it doesn’t cause my already dry skin to look look even more parched. It is important to me that I don’t see my foundation and that it doesn’t settle in any lines or emphasize dryness. Now that you know what I look for, let’s see what I love!

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream – (Light) This is my go too in the summer. It offers SPF 30 mineral protection, a gorgeous dewy finish, and a nice amount of coverage for a bb cream.
Make Up For Ever Face and Body Foundation – (#38) This is one of my all time favourite foundations. It has been on empty forever and I need to restock. It has the most gorgeous natural finish and can be worn sheerly or built up for more coverage. It also happens to be waterproof!
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation – (BR10) I still need to try shade B10 to see if it’s a better match but even though BR10 isn’t quite the perfect shade match I still adore the feel and finish of this exquisite foundation. It offers medium coverage that can come closer to full on me.
Giorgio Armani Maestro Fusion Makeup – (#3) While this foundation doesn’t look the best on me when my dry skin is really acting up I still love the amazing texture and lightweight feel of this innovative dry oil foundation that offers incredible coverage with a weightless feel.
Make Up For Ever HD Foundation – (#118) I had tried this years ago and didn’t think I liked it on my dry skin. Now that I’ve had the opportunity to give it another chance I have fallen for MUFE HD. It offers medium coverage and is a go to for me when I want a foundation I can put on quickly and know it will look natural.
Face Atelier Ultra Foundation – (#1) This is the foundation I use in my professional kit to give my clients a flawless finish. They are always amazed at the coverage this foundation offers while looking and feeling natural. I really need to get myself my own personal bottle of this for my vanity. I’ve never seen a foundation cover so well yet look so natural.
Ellis Faas Skin Veil Foundation – (S101) This foundation may be pricey but when you want beautiful undetectable coverage with a gorgeous finish this foundation is one of the best.
Rouge Bunny Rouge Time Defying Foundation – (Quinoa Cream) Another beautiful foundation for those of us with dry skin. It doesn’t have a very large shade range but if you can make one of them work the formula and effect of this foundation is truly lovely.
There are certainly many amazing foundations out there and to be fair I should let you know that I haven’t tested all that many. Let’s face it, foundations are pricey. They also are only good for so long once open so if I have a few that are working shade wise I don’t try and find anything new. I wish I could be a foundation junkie and try them all but I am far too frugal! I would love to hear your favourites. Especially if you have fair dry skin like me!
