I first introduced you to the stunning eye products from the Lise Watier Spring 2012 Aquarella Collection with this post. The lip products in the collection are no less breathtaking. This has been my first experience with Lise Watier cosmetics and all I have to say is “what the heck took me so long”!
There are two new shades of Rouge Gourmand lipstick for Spring. Macaron and Guimauve ($19) which I am sharing with you today. The Rouge Gourmand formula is the #1 lipstick in Canada and I can see why. The formula is designed to increase lip volume and be ultra creamy and comfortable on the lips. I found this lipstick to have a nice feel. I’m not sure of the other shades in the line up but Guimauve had very nice colour coverage with a slightly sheer, juicy effect. It was fairly long lasting for such a creamy formula and didn’t have the yucky feeling of too much slip that I don’t care for in moisturizing lipsticks. I adore this shade!
The Limited Edition Gloss Aquarella in Rose Aquarella ($20) is enclosed in a beautiful flower embossed tube and has a slightly elongated doe foot applicator. The formula is moisturizing and very glossy and has the most beautiful iridescent, teeny tiny shimmers that are so gorgeous on the lips. There is enough of a lavender rose hue to wear this beauty by herself but it really shines as a lipstick topper on top of Guimauve or any other shade you may want to try with it. This particular shade is on the sheer side but I’ve heard from others that many of the shades are quite opaque. The formula only has the smallest amount of stickiness so in my book I’d consider it to be non sticky. Maybe similar to the tiny amount of stickiness in a Chanel Glossimer.
The Waterproof Lip Crayon in Rose Mauve ($16) is the perfect companion for the Guimauve Rouge Gourmand lipstick released with the Spring 2012 Aquarella collection. It has a very subtle luminescence that keeps it from looking flat and it applies very smoothly with no pulling. Being waterproof it is long lasting but not overly so in that it would leave you with a horrible ring around your lips after your lipstick wore off. It makes your lipstick last longer while wearing off quite evenly with it.
These products have already become one of my favourite lip combos! Who needs to wait for spring?!
