One of my favourite Holiday 2014 collections is the Lise Watier Aurora Winter 2014 Collection. The collection is inspired by the beautiful natural phenomenon that graces our northern Canadian night skies, the Aurora Borealis. Everything from the stunning packaging to the shades in the collection are influenced by the sweeping colours of the northern lights.
The packaging on the compacts is a shimmering blue, purple and teal duo chrome finish with sweeping bands of multicoloured glitter. It is so pretty.
The limited edition Lise Watier Palette Aurora Eyeshadows ($43 CAD) is a 6 shade eyeshadow palette with the creme-powder eyeshadow formula from Lise Watier that I love. The formula is rich, smooth, and pigmented and the warmth of your skin creates and even more opaque finish. There is a range of semi-matte to iridescent finishes in the palette.
The shades are:
- Ivory Rose
- Pink-Mauve
- Violet
- Taupe
- Gold
- Midnight Blue
You can create looks from any variety of combinations of shades in the palette or go for a quick and easy duo of shades for a more basic look. The recommended pairings are Midnight Blue with Gold, Violet with Pink-Mauve, and Taupe with Ivory Rose.
One of my favourite items in the collection is the Lise Watier Aurora Iridescent Eyeshadow inTeal ($25 CAD). These are powder eyeshadows with glittering micro-particles that can be applied dry for a more subtle sheer glimmering effect or applied wet, or with a Lise Watier Métamorfix Liquid Transformer, for an intense duo chrome metallic finish. Teal (shown below) is a teal shade with green and purple duo chrome. There is also the shade Violet available that is a violet plum shade that reveals coppery highlights. The Aurora Iridescent Eyeshadows are limited edition.
My other favourite piece in the collection is the Lise Watier Aurora Iridescent Eyeliner ($22 CAD). This liquid eyeliner has a millimetre wide precision-tip brush applicator that makes it easy to apply anything from a fine line to a bolder wing. The deep plum burgundy shade shifts in the light to reveal coppery glints. I love this liner because it is dark enough to intensify the lashline while giving the most beautiful colour and subtle glimmer to your look. It is so, so gorgeous. The eyeliner wears all day for me until I remove it at night. Sometimes liquid liners like these can tighten and pucker my lids but I do not experience that with this product at all unless I apply way too much. I wish this wasn’t limited edition because it is such a great shade.
The limited edition Lise Watier Aurora Celestial Light Powder ($36 CAD) is a blend of rose, brown, and gold tones to give the skin a subtle and luminous glow. The finish is a stunning natural sheen that isn’t glittery or over the top. The formula is quite powdery so does kick up quite a mess when you use it but the result is worth it!
The collection brings a new limited edition shade of Lise Watier’s fabulous Haute Lumiére lipgloss formula. The Lise Watier Haute Lumiére High Shine Lip Gloss in Aurora ($23 CAD) is a bright rosy pink with a translucent finish that makes it incredibly wearable. If you haven’t tried the formula before it is high shine with no stickiness and hugs the lips for excellent wear time and comfort. There is just something about this gloss that makes my lips look so plump.
There are also some new regular products being added to the line as part of the collection including:
Lise Watier Rouge Fondant Suprême Lipstick in Stella ($24 CAD). This is a light, buttery formula that offers intense colour payoff. It is infused with the powerful antioxidant properties of Lise Watier’s exclusive ingredient Concentrated Labrador Tea Extract.
The Lise Watier Smokey Kohl Velours in Indigo Velours ($20 CAD) is a richly pigmented matte smokey indigo shade that is waterproof and long wearing. There is an included felt tip for smudging your line if you want to go for a softer look. (See above for swatch.)
There is also a gorgeous blue green metallic finish Lise Watier Eye Shine Eyeliner in Aurora ($20 CAD) that is the perfect compliment to the other products in the collection. I don’t have it to show you today but thankfully it’s not limited edition!
The collection is available now until approximately January 2015 at Lise Watier counters in Canada and online in Canada and the US at LiseWatier.com and in the US at Naimies.com.
