I am so excited to be able to share this beautiful guest post from my lovely and talented friend Janet Hilts with you today!
Makeup and beauty routines can shift dramatically when you use them to enhance your inner beauty, instead of trying to create a whole new you from the outside.
But sometimes the idea of “inner beauty” seems like it only applies to someone else. I’ve been there. It can sound like some airy-fairy fantasy idea that has nothing to do with you. Especially if you don’t feel beautiful inside.
Your inner beauty is real. It’s strong. It’s powerful. Even if you don’t feel it. Ask your closest girlfriend. Ask a loving relative. They know it’s alive and well and part of what keeps them connected to you.
HOW TO CONNECT WITH YOUR OWN INNER BEAUTY
Here’s how you can get in touch with your own inner beauty. First of all, think of a baby girl or a little toddler girl – someone familiar to you. Can you see her inner beauty shine out? Her innocent loveliness? Her enthusiastic sparkle? Her untarnished joy? That’s the core essence of who she is. It is purely naturally how she was born. That essence cannot be destroyed, cannot be harmed, cannot burn out. Her inner beauty will exist in this same pure form throughout her life – no matter what happens through the years.
And the same is true for you. Even when you don’t feel attractive inside, your own core essence of inner beauty is as strong and vibrant as ever. Because it’s indestructibly, untouchably lovely and shiny and radiant, despite anything else that goes on around you.
MAKE IT VISIBLE FOR YOURSELF
Here’s a way to reconnect with your own inner beauty. Find a photo of yourself as a little girl or a baby — a picture where you can see that core essence shining out of you. It might be you with an expression of total happiness, of innocence, of delight or surprise, or being loving with a pet or a person.
There is the visual evidence of your inner beauty. Print it out and frame this precious picture in a special frame – sparkly, shiny, brightly colored, or otherwise radiant. Even a fake rhinestone frame from a dollar store is perfect. The point is to visually remind you that your inner beauty shines outward, even if you can’t see it yourself.
CONNECT YOUR INNER BEAUTY TO YOUR OUTER BEAUTY
Now you can use this beautiful picture of your essence to practice getting back in touch with your own inner beauty. So when you do your outer beauty routines, they will automatically enhance your inner beauty. They won’t be focused on covering you up, or trying to look like somebody else. Your makeup will make your own inner glow radiate out.
And Christa is the perfect makeup coach to help you with this. She can see your beauty in places where you might have blind spots. And her expert skills can help you make the most of your own unique beauty.
Go ahead and sparkle! Let that core essence of the beautiful you inside shine out to the world!
