The new Lancôme Vernis in Love 520 Étincelle de Neige ($16 CAD) is GORGEOUS! I thought it looked so, well, boring in the bottle. This nail lacquer is anything but. It looks like snow on your nails! It is a a wonderful combination of matte and glitter effects (think OPI Liquid Sand) that creates the most stunning frosted effect. I was thinking this would be a sheer glitter topper but rather it’s a densely pigmented magical winter in a bottle.
Shown below is one coat on the far left, then two coats. You can see even with one coat it is almost opaques. Then I swatched it over Vernis in Love 154M Miss Coquelicot. Etincelle de Neige is too dense to serve as a glitter topper. The following swatch is using it for a gradient glitter tip. It works beautifully for this effect.
The Lancôme Holiday 2013 Collection will be available at Lancôme counters and department stores in November.
