The new Hourglass 1.5MM Mechanical Gel Eye Liner in Obsidian ($45 US/package of 3 or $16/single) is one of the best eyeliners I have tried in a long time and well worth the hype.
It is an absolute dream for tightlining. This ultra fine twist up gel liner is perfect for getting right in between your lashes to intensify your lashline. The thin, soft liner offers amazing precision for lining the eyes without the hassles of pots of brushes. 2 clicks is all you need to line each eye and each non-retractable mechanical pencil yields approximately 17-20 uses.
This gel formula is waterproof, budge proof, and extremely long wearing. They set fairly quickly and don’t travel from my upper lash line to my lower lashline and long as I wait a few seconds before squishing my eyes together (to line my upper lash line for example). When I say budge proof I mean hardcore budge proof. I rubbed the swatches on my arm as hard as I could and I could not get it to fade or smudge.
Obsidian is a nicely pigmented rich black. It’s an essential shade and product for any good makeup collection or pro kit and I am curious to see if there are more shades on the horizon.
