Everything about Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Toilette, from the box, to the bottle, to the juice inside, is pretty and girly. The white box is outlined in pink ribbon detail with the little strapless black dress with pink ribbon prominently displayed, and the delightfully feminine font.
I absolutely adore this bottle. The cap in a modern take on an inverted heart. Around the base of the cap is a Guerlain ribbon detail. The cap closes very securely onto the bottle. The bottle itself is clear glass revealing the soft pink scent inside. La petite Robe noire is on the front of the bottle in black script and the black strapless dress is actually on the back of the bottle. It is a gorgeous presentation.
The scent opens as a fresh floral with notes of jasmine, rose, and orange blossom. This is probably my favourite part of the experience. Mind you I was delighted to discover this scent hangs on to it’s floral nature for the majority of it’s wear on my skin. The fruity middle notes of cherry, apple, and blackcurrent are then revealed. I shy from fruity scents as they tend to get sickly sweet on my skin but La Petite Robe Noire develops beautifully on me and is balanced by a healthy dose of green notes. The dry down continues to warm the scent on my skin with white amber, white musk, and patchouli making it feel even cuddlier. I love smelling this on the neck of my sweater throughout the day. This scent is very long lasting on me and has good sillage.
All told I am loving this very feminine eau de toilette. Guerlain scents and packaging always hold a special place in my heart. I am still devastated they discontinued one of my favourite scents, Vetiver Pour Elle.
