I was lucky enough to receive the Guerlain Les Violets quad from a dear friend for Christmas. She was hesitant giving me a palette of purples but I was ecstatic. I LOVE purples!
From Guerlain’s website:
Create, have fun and dear to ware colour as an accessory. Specially designed to be used together, GUERLAIN colours can be mixed, matched and blended with no fear of mistakes. Each colour is unique. To fully embellish it, GUERLAIN created each tone individually to give it just the right texture that reveals it without detracting from its beauty. Actually, each harmony of Ecrin 4 Couleurs is composed of an interplay of different ans specially selected textures: – IRIDESCENT: tiny pearly particles that release luminous colour with an iridiscent finish. – MATTE: an extra-matt, ultra-soft finish for ultimate comfort. – VELVET SATIN: perfect glide for a velvety result that feels soft and delicate. – ALCANTAR’EYES: a metallic finish with unbelievable softness.
The 01 Les Violets palette is a mix of 3 velvet satin shades and one iridescent (the deep smoky purple). At least I think those are the finishes? I’m really just guessing. None of them are completely matte and none of them are very sparkly so that’s my best guess. The deep plum shade is a bit chalky and sheer but works in nicely with the other shades. Pigmentation is pretty decent on them overall and they blend well together.
Sorry my lids look like a dry horror show in this pic but you can see that the shades work nicely together and I look forward to playing with more combinations with the quad.
