The new Givenchy Le Rouge Sculpt Lipstick ($38 US/$45 CAD) is a two toned lipstick that instantly volumizes lips with its built in color and contour shades in one tube.
To achieve this ombre, volumizing effect you sweep the lipstick onto the upper lip in normal fashion, then you flip the lipstick upside down to apply to your lower lip. This way you have a border of the deeper colour surrounding the lighter colour in the centre. Press your lips together to subtly blend the shades and you have an instant ombre effect lip. Now here’s the thing. I personally don’t care for applying the lipsticks this way. Because the lipstick bullets have the standard angled shape, it’s very awkward to invert the tube to apply to the lower lip with the deeper shade on the bottom. You can’t curve the lipstick tube towards your face enough to make adequate contact with the inner part of your bottom lip. But that said, I still adore these lipsticks. Oh my goodness the Givenchy Le Rouge formula is divine. These lipsticks feel heavenly on the lips. So hydrating and silky. They offer rich pigmentation with a glossy finish that makes the lips look lush, plump, and healthy. Rather than doing the sculpted application, I’ve just been applying these as I would an ordinary lipstick, which means I end up with more of the deeper colour on my upper lip and more of the lighter shade on my lower lips. Then I rub my lips together to combine the shades. You still get a subtle ombre effect. The shades are beautiful when combined and I can’t get enough of this formula!
There are five shades available:
- 01 Rouge – “magic” black and red
- 02 Violine – deep berry and red pink
- 03 Fuchsia – fuchsia and pink
- 04 Corail – coral and brick red
- 05 Rose – rose and berry

Givenchy has also released 7 new shades of the Givenchy Le Rouge Lipstick ($36 US/$43 CAD). If you want to experience the luxurious Le Rouge formula without the two-toned effect then be sure to check out this range of 21 shades. The shade I have is 326 Pourpre Edgy which is a dark maroon red that is perfect for fall.
Whether you opt for the Givenchy Le Rouge formula or Le Rouge Sculpt, you will receive the same incredible packaging. This packaging is so my style. A gorgeous mix of luxury and edginess. The tubes have a hefty, quality feel in the hands. The tubes are shiny silver with black leather and studs details. Yes, STUDS! I love this packaging so much.
Available at Sephora.

Are you loving the look of these lipsticks? Which would you try first?
I am such a sucker for all blue-based lippies — Violine and Fuchsia are calling my name. Corail is striking on you.
Oh, I must try these! Fuchsia and Rose look very nice! I only wish they had more of a nude shade in the collection.
