Giorgio Armani Rouge d’Armani Lipsticks are quickly becoming my favourite lipstick formula. I swore I had reviewed 605 already but when searching for my comments on the formula for this review I could not find any review for it. Apparently I’m losing my mind as I was sure I’d reviewed it as 605 is one of my favourite lipsticks. I guess I had better rectify that shortly!
The Rouge d’Armani formula goes on glossy and creamy and after a few minutes on the lips seems to almost “set”. It has fabulous lasting power and will stay on through my morning coffees and a snack. Some of the shades are more sheer and glossy where as shade 512 is one of the more opaque, creamy finishes. They are very comfortable to wear. The don’t feel heavy and they don’t have the slip all over your lips feeling of an overly creamy lipstick that I despise. I wore it in this look recently topped with just a touch of gloss to soften it and it was beautiful.
Here are some comparisons to other medium pinks in my collection. You can see, although warm, 512 is more a true pink. Edward Bess Rose Demure has considerably more brown tones, Chanel Rouge Coco Mademoiselle exhibits almost orange tones when swatched next to 512 where Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture in #9 Rose Stiletto is more plum.
