This is my first Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Silk eye shadow purchase. I can assure you it will not be my last. I held out a really, really long time before finally deciding to try one of these out. I never had the opportunity to see these in person and was under the misconception that these would be over the top glittery. Boy was I ever wrong! These aren’t glittery at all. They aren’t even overly frosty. At least Purpura isn’t. When applied it is gorgeous and shimmery and just plain stunning. The dimension in colour this formula provides is extraordinary. It is a pleasure to work with. It glides on and blends effortlessly. I don’t experience any of they typical “struggles” have with some cream products. It applies as a pigmented, buttery, glorious powder that is everything a cream wishes it could be. OK I’m getting a little over the top here now myself.
From the Giorgio Armani Beauty website:
HIGH VOLTAGE 24 HOUR EYES TO KILL SHADOWS
This innovative hybrid texture, which is not a powder, nor a cream acts like a smooth, lasting color film. Each shade is intensified with a second pigment for a multi-dimensional effect. In just one swoop, create a wet, shimmering smokey eye. Base color covers eyelid, and second pigment adds drama to the contour. The technology: Color-FilTM, for the first time in an eyeshadow. A new high resistance bi-polymer enables the formula to perfectly fit the color to the eyelid with cushiony suppleness, for a never seen comfortable long wear.
Twenty four hour color wear, crease proof, flake proof, waterproof and sweat-proof, Eyes To Kill Intense Eyeshadows slide on, stay on, but wipe off in an instant. Apply wet or dry with fingers or the Armani large eye contour brush.
I wish I had this review up for you sooner. I’ve had this for weeks now but my pictures of the product in brand new condition were a terrible representation of the shade and I refused to post them. I finally accepted that to provide you with an accurate review I would have to disgrace you with pictures of a used product. Not the end of the world I suppose. 😉

This picture is in strong direct sunlight and show this at it’s maximum shimmer potential. In use on the eye it does not appear this shimmery. Please stay tuned for a face of the day post highlighting Purpura.

These retail for $32 US and $42 Canadian…yeah, tell me what’s wrong with that picture…
