When I opened up the package containing the Limited Edition Cherry Blossom Gold Series Professional 1″ Flat Iron from ghd I was totally wowed. It is breathtakingly beautiful. The embossed cherry blossom pattern on the exterior packaging is just a glimpse of the beauty inside.
This is no ordinary box. OK I know I am starting to sound like a total weirdo geeking out over the packaging but sometimes packaging really can make you feel special. So the pink ribbon you see is the handle to pull out a drawer and reveal the ghd styler inside. I want to find a way to reuse this cute drawer packaging because it is so pretty and well made.
Inside the drawer is a lovely black satin pouch with pink and gold embossed cherry blossom pattern. The pouch has two compartments to keep the cord separated from the flat iron itself. How pretty is that?!
The ghd Limited Edition Cherry Blossom ($225 US) styler is part of the Gold Professional series and has the following features:
- Advanced ceramic heater technology
- Sleep mode
- Universal voltage
- Rounded barrel
- 2.7m swivel cord
- Shimmering Pink plates and accents
I love the easy to grip rounded barrel and the fact I don’t have to worry about forgetting to turn the tool off (because I have a seemingly permanent case of mommy brain) because I can feel safe knowing it will turn itself off.
See the ghd logo in pink dots on the switch there? That lights up (in pink!) and pulses to let you know it’s heating up. When it’s fully heated up it switches to a continues light and emits three beeps. I thought it was pretty cute!
OK so you know I am in love with the packaging and look of the ghd Cherry Blossom 1″ styler but how did I find this flat iron performs? It worked really well for me. It quickly straightened by hair and it was comfortable to hold and use. The only trouble I had was that it did snag on my hair several times which is a problem I have had with every flat iron I’ve ever used. I wonder if it is user error on my part? The picture below shows you the great results I achieved with the styler. My hair is very frizzy, damaged, and layered so I was pretty impressed with the overall smooth effect. The series of three photos below shows my natural hair (not very curly because I washed the night before and didn’t bother doing my usual routine knowing I would straighten anyways), my hair brushed out (poofy horror show), my hair beautifully straight and smooth after using the ghd flat iron.
The ghd stylers are available directly from the ghd website and they are also available at Sephora, Nordstrom, and Neiman Marcus.
