A good eyeshadow primer is an absolute MUST in my opinion. I think it is one of the products that can totally revolutionize someone’s experience with makeup once they discover it and incorporate it into their makeup routine. I really can’t imagine how I ever lived without it. It makes such a difference in how your makeup looks, performs, and lasts. It is probably the product I recommend most to people who are wanting to up their makeup game.
The Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Pro Filt’r Amplifying Eye Primer ($22 US/$28 CAD) is a fabulous eyeshadow primer. First, let’s start with the packaging. Who knew an eyeshadow primer could look this luxurious and pretty? I adore the presentation. The doe foot applicator has a unique shape and I find it does a beautiful job at drawing out the ideal amount of product.
The formula is very lightweight and silky. It smooths beautifully over the lid and leaves a base that provides that extra adhesion to your eyeshadow without being too tacky and grabbing unevenly to shadows like some eyeshadow primers can. This primer has a soft pink tint but doesn’t offer coverage so it will match all skin tones. This isn’t the kind of eyeshadow base that will cover up or conceal veins and discoloration on your eyelids. This primer focuses on offering improved color payoff and performance and all day lasting power and crease-free, fade-proof wear of your favorite eyeshadows. I am really pleased with this formula!
Ingredients: Isododecane, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Mica, Talc, Polyethylene, Cyclohexasiloxane, Dextrin Palmitate/Ethylhexanoate, VP/Eicosene Copolymer, Triethylhexanoin, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Silica Silylate, Methicone, Propylene Carbonate, VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Diisostearyl Malate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate, Dehydroacetic Acid, Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491, Ci 77492).
Also shown in this post is the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Flyliner Longwear Liquid Eyeliner ($20 USD/$ CAD). I don’t wear liquid liners as they aren’t flattering with my hooded less than smooth eyelids but I did test out this formula and it is definitely one of the best ones I tried. It didn’t tighten awkwardly on my lids as some liquid liners can and it didn’t crack, fade, or smudge all day, even with my hooded lids. The applicator is very smooth and I think if you are a liquid liner diehard this is a formula you are definitely going to want to explore.
Have you tried anything from Fenty Beauty lately? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
