My Favorite Summer Lip Products

This week the Makeup Wars team is sharing our Favorite Summer Lip Products. This was an easy one for me because I know exactly what I gravitate to during Spring and Summer. While I favour more nude lipsticks year round I find I don’t often reach for lipsticks during the summer. During the warmer months I am all about tinted lip treatments and tinted balms. Which is kind of funny because years ago I couldn’t stand sheer lip products. I wanted lipsticks or richly pigmented lip glosses. Now I rarely use lip gloss and find it’s either lipstick, or these tinted products. I find if I have a pink and coral toned version of my favorite formulas on hand then I’m set.

My all time favorite tinted lip balm/treatments is the Dior Addict Lip Glow ($41 CAD). I love these colour adjusting balms so, so much. It’s certainly hard to woo you with swatches of these because their beauty does not come across in photos, but there is something about how these look onthe lips that is just beautiful. Plus, the keep my lips healthy and hydrated, leave a bit of a stain behind, are easy to apply on the go, and last a remarkably long time on the lips. The Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors ($20 CAD) are a beautiful tinted lip treatment with more of a gloss finish. They offer a really nice amount of color and smell and feel amazing. Shown are 13 Pink Grapefruit and 11.

The Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil ($26 US/$25 CAD) has a luxurious light lip oil texture and gives rich glossy shine. The new colors shown, 04 Candy and 05 Tangerine, have a color adjusting formula that leaves a personalized tint to the lips. I find the formula, combined with the PH adjusting tint, gives lips a really beautiful, juicy glow.

The Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Tint-in-Balm ($34 US/$42 CAD) are probably the most luxurious tinted lip balm you can find. The packaging is stunning, the lip shaped core is so cute, the colours are beautiful, and they smell so good! Shown is 11 Play Me Fuchsia.

The GrandeLips Hydrating Lip Plumper Color ($26.95) are very effective lip plumping treatments with richly pigmented and vibrant color payoff. They are pretty amazing! Shown are Hot Fuchsia and Sunset Orange.

And lastly we have a lip product that isn’t a tinted lip treatment or balm, but rather a lip product that I’ve recently become obsessed with for fun nights out this summer. The Lancôme Matte Shaker Liquid Lipsticks ($ US/$ CAD). I loathe matte liquid lipsticks but these Shakers have a formula that is very unique and unlike other drying matte liquid lipsticks. They are incredibly lightweight and are more like a stain but they manage to offer full color coverage. The colours are so vibrant and beautiful. Perfect for summer! Shown are Pink Power and Magic Orange.
