This week the Makeup Wars team is sharing our favorite nail polishes for Spring and early Summer. I have so many beautiful new nail colours that I am excited to start using this season but with almost cutting the end of my finger off a week ago my plans of swatching them all for you have been squashed. I was hoping to at least do some nail wheel swatches for you but it turns out my daughter has stolen most of them from me to play with. Hopefully I can get swatches up of more of these lovely new polishes up for you shortly, but in the meantime hopefully I will at least inspire you to search out some more info on some of these pretties on other amazing blogs.
Right now I am absolutely loving the colour on my nails. I managed to take some nail swatch photos on my right hand (shown above) and almost managed to drop my camera using it with my left hand in the process. This is Essie Viva Antigua! from the Essie Summer 2016 Collection. This shade is an absolutely stunning turquoise green with subtle fleck glitter. It applies perfectly in 2 coats. This baby is going to get a lot of use this spring/summer! The entire collection is beautiful. Shown below are four of the shades in mini bottles.
On my toes I am wearing Ceramic Glaze Perfect Peony from the limited edition, Botanical Oasis Collection. The Botanical Oasis Collection is a collection of pastel hues with a bright twist. Inspired by vibrant floral blooms as they first peek through the snow at the end of Winter, this collection includes an assortment of textures including crème gloss, gloss shimmer, neon gloss, shimmer and matte glitter. Perfect Peony is one of those perfect pedicure choices that is bright and summery. I applied a top coat of gold fleck glitter for an added touch of sparkle. I have swatched some of my other favorite shades from the collection as well.
A colour combo I am loving right now for nails is OPI Show Us Your Tips! accented with OPI Take a Right on Borbon, both from the OPI Spring/Summer 2016 New Orleans Collection. Show Us Your Tips is a unique shade falling somewhere between lilac and periwinkle blue. It has subtle tonal and silver fleck glitter. It speaks to my heart. <3 Take a Right on Bourbon is another stunner. It is a sort of warm pewter with a hint of rosy pink iridescence. They are both unique and breathtaking shades and I find they accent each other beautifully.
I have so many more beautiful new nails shades to share with you, including some from Dior and CND, so hopefully my finger heals quickly and isn’t too scary for swatching when I take all the bandages and tape off. I’m a little afraid to see!
