Today the Makeup Wars members are sharing our favorite beauty splurges. The indulgent makeup, hair, and skincare purchases that we feel are worth the investment. I admit I’m a luxury beauty lover. But what products are really worth the splurge for me?
My ultimate Hair Splurge is the Kerastase V.I.P. Volume In Powder Backcomb Effect Finishing Spray. I’ve mentioned this incredible product many times on this blog, and I know at a price of $41 CAD it is quite an investment. But this product is so worth it. I don’t use it everyday, I save it for when I’m going out, so a bottle does last me a long time. If you are looking for more volume at the roots then you need this in your life. I have fine curly hair and this miracle product is the key to me having full, voluminous curls and never having to worry about the dreaded triangle head of flat roots and curly ends. Not only does the VIP spray give you incredible, and lasting, volume at the roots but you can easily refresh that amazing volume all day long with just a little massage of your roots.
My ultimate Body Splurge is the Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black Body Oil. If you’re not a Nirvana Black fan then you could substitute this with a body oil in your favorite scent. There is somethings so decadent and luxurious about massaging a beautiful fragranced oil all over your body. Especially after a relaxing bath. While I use the spray versions of my favorite scents during the day, I love applying a body oil before bed as a sensorial treat. By adding things like oils, and even scented candles, in your favorite scent to your collection it is a special splurge that takes your love for that fragrance to a new level. I can’t find the Nirvana Black Body Oil sold separately right now but they do have this INCREDIBLE Elizabeth and James House of Nirvana Black Set ($225 CAD) available that is the ultimate splurge. It includes the fragrance, the body oil, scented candle, hand cream, and even a mini dry shampoo!
When it comes to a Makeup Splurge I’m going to cheat a little. I just couldn’t resist! I am a real luxury makeup devotee so it is hard for me to come up with one special product to recommend. I can however say that when it comes to a makeup splurge you can’t go wrong with Charlotte Tilbury. I think Charlotte Tilbury is my all-time favorite luxury beauty brand. Even with luxury brands it is unfortunately quite easy to accidentally end up bringing home a dud product. I don’t find I ever have to worry though with Charlotte Tilbury. This highly curated and edited range is full of incredibly products. The formulas, shades, and packaging are all impeccable. I have a rather large Charlotte Tilbury Collection and the only thing I have ever tried that didn’t work out for me was the Magic Foundation. If you want to splurge on a new makeup product I can’t recommend her products highly enough. Some of my favorites are the lipsticks, lip liners, eyeshadow quads, blushes, the Flimstar Bronze and Glow duo, OK sorry! I’m not really narrowing that down well am I?
