Did you know that the Rouge Dior lipstick has existed in over 1500 shades since 1953? Well what better time than Rouge Dior’s 60th Anniversary to reinvent this cult lipstick! Introducing the new Rouge Dior Couture Colour Voluptuous Care Lipstick ($36 CAD). There are 32 shades available grouped into pinks, reds, beiges, and corals. I have the “Icon” shade from each colour group to show you today. All 32 shades are designed to be universally flattering with the perfect balance of pigment and intensity to flatter all skin tones.
These lipsticks have an incredibly lightweight and silky feel. There is no heaviness or even creaminess. They just feel light. Yet, they are insanely pigmented and have a gorgeous shine without shimmer. I was actually really surprised with how long these lipsticks lasted for given they feel so light. Particularly the more intense shades. While they do transfer, and will leave their mark on your glass, they manage to last impressively for hours even through eating and drinking. They leave a soft stain to the lips once they wear off. The luxurious formula contains a treatment to smooth and re-plump lips. It contains rock samphire extract which stimulates cellular renew to smooth lips and spheres of hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump.
I think my swatches will accurately portray this vibrancy to you. At least I hope they will!
Darling is a beautiful vibrant pink.
Trafalgar is part of the coral family and is an stunning intense orange red.
999 is a tribute to Christian Dior’s first lipstick 9, which later resurfaced as 99, and then exactly 10 years ago as 999. It is what one may call, the “perfect red”.
Grege 1947 is a blend of grey and beige that is definitively Dior. It is a gorgeous nude.
The new packaging is an ultra deep blue lacquer that almost looks black. The base is circled by a ring of Miss Dior style canework motif and the iconic CD initials are stamped on the top of the lid.
Will you try out this new Rouge Dior incarnation? They are available now in the US and will hit counters in Canada in October 2013.
