The Dior Golden Winter Holiday 2013 Holiday Collection is inspired by Versailles at the heart of winter. The collection is based around shades of gold and pink and the two 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow Palettes; Golden Flower #634 and Golden Snow #634 ($61/ea CAD) released with the collection are breathtaking.
Golden Flower is my favourite of the two palettes. There is a pinky peach with golden iridescence, a shimmering ivory, a rich red brown, shimmering golden copper, and a center gold beige glitter shade.
The peach and ivory shade have medium pigmentation and a beautiful texture. The rich red brown and golden copper are richly pigmented and smooth. The center glitter shade is a bit sheer of course but actually applied really nicely.
Golden Snow is a really beautiful combination of shades and a bit more unique than Golden Flower. Golden Flower took the lead as my favourite of the two because there are two glitter shades in Golden Snow which makes it a little harder to work with.
Golden Snow has a nicely pigmented and creamy shimmery pale pink, a gold glitter shade that does have a bit more pigmentation than the center glitter shades tend to but is still pretty sheer, there is a lovely medium navy with very subtle sheen that is fairly sheer. My favourite shade in the palette is the buttery smooth and pigmented shimmery mauve. The center shade is a sheer white glitter.
I am absolutely in love with these palettes. Particularly Golden Flower which I’ve been using several times a week.
This limited collection will hit counters nationwide in November 2013. It is available online at TheBay.com in Canada and Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom in the US.
