The Dior Fall 2016 Skyline Collection 5 Couleurs Skyline Palettes ($ US/$73 CAD) have some of the most intricate and beautiful embossments I’ve ever seen. The pattern in an interpretation of the architectural structure of the Eiffel Tower. I don’t usually have too hard of a time digging my brush in and destroying beautiful cosmetic embellishments but this time I had a genuine struggle. Just look at how beautiful and detailed this is! Being so finely detailed it takes very little to mar it’s beauty. I got over it though!
There are no glittery or strongly shimmering shades in these quints like we often see. These shadows all have a very, very delicate and refined shimmer that give them a radiance without being shimmery. The shadows offer good but not strong pigmentation. If you are familiar with the Dior quints their beauty is the effortless way in which they apply and blend for a sophisticated look. Often incorporating some more adventurous shades but in a gentle, wearable way. They aren’t intensely pigmented but that is by design. I do recommend an eyeshadow primer with these palettes to maximize your colour payoff and performance.
The palette colour combinations are also inspired by Paris. 506 Parisian Sky is a mix of pure blue (it looks like a pale mint but appears more blue on the skin) and seasonal beiges radiating from a steel grey. I wore this palette using all but the grey shade to my nephew’s birthday party on the weekend and it’s such an easy to wear palette. I just added a touch of the blue in the centre of my mobile lid for a subtle brightening effect.

806 Capital of Light has the most stunning taupe in the top left corner. There is a medley of gentle ivory and beige with a bright yet soft pink at the centre and a deep plum. This is such a pretty mix of shades.

I really love the colour combinations in these Fall 2016 Dior 5 Couleurs Skyline palettes. They are both beautiful and very sophisticated and wearable while still having some touches of fun colour. The two palettes may have gotten the most oohs and ahhs out of me upon opening than any other quints have to date. So beautifully presented.

Are you excited for these? They will be available August 1st, 2016.
