The new Dior Diorshow Pump ‘n’ Volume Mascara ($37 CAD) is all about excess volume. It creates effortless, intense, dramatic, volume. This isn’t for the faint of heart who want natural, defined lashes. It has a high-density formula that maintains it’s fluidity down to the last drop. The ability to squeeze the flexible rubberized portion of the tube means you can almost “stir” the mascara to keep it fresh and fluid so it deposits oversize volume in a single stroke. I actually prefer this mascara with one coat as it gives such incredible impact with a single coat, that two coats is almost too much. The image below is two coats.
The brush is a silicone brush with short flexible spikey bristles.
The formula is very long wearing and smudge/flake proof. It took a good amount of massaging with my cleansing oil to get this stuff off, so I have full confidence wearing it in humid summer weather.
Dior has also reinvented the Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palettes ($72 CAD). These new quints are touted as being more richly pigmented than their predecessors. The palettes include a range of finishes in matte, velvet, satin, lamé, glitter, and shiny. I have always loved the beautiful finishes of Dior shadows and their incredible blendability. Adding a boost of pigmentation and richer effects to the formula is something I can get very excited about. Plus the presentation is nothing short of stunning.
I have the palette Electrify. The mix of blues, mint, coral, and pale gold are perfect for spring and summer. They are really gorgeous colours. They are vibrant yet apply with a sophistication that makes them far more wearable than I expected. While I’m not a blue eyeshadow wearer I must say I am enjoying this palette quite a bit! I may have to start wearing blue a little more often.
Available now at Sephora and Dior Counters and retailers.
