Do you experience facial redness? I have struggled with facial redness for as long as I can remember. It is something that can affect anyone but is most common in women (me!), people with fair skin (me!), ages 30-50 (me! yet I experienced it before my 30’s as well), and can also be hereditary.
Facial redness can exhibit in many ways: Overall redness, flushing, visible veins and capillaries. It’s usually most evident on the nose, forehead, and cheeks. I experience it on my cheeks, around my nose, my chin, and my neck. I do have visible capillaries which have been increasing with age.
Dermakalm Rosa Cream is a formulation targeted at reducing the appearance of facial redness, small veins, and capillaries. It does so reinforcing and repairing the skin’s moisture barrier. By improving this barrier, skin is better protected from environmental stressors, dirt, and bacteria.
The Dermakalm Rose Cream also features a green tint which helps color correct the redness in the skin to reduce its appearance.
As far as anti-redness products go, Dermakalm Rosa Cream is the first over the counter product to be both paraben and fragrance free. The only scent to the product comes from the Echinacea extract which aids in calming the skin.
Some of the best ways to avoid redness, if you are prone to it, is to avoid:
If you find you suffer from facial redness, it is important to be mindful of how you care for and treat your skin, and the products you use. Always be gentle when cleansing and removing makeup. Don’t rub with washcloths or use abrasive scrubs. Use lukewarm water rather than warm, verging on hot. Avoid products that contain fragrances and known irritants. And, be sure to protect your skin daily with proper hydration and sunscreen.
If you find yourself feeling embarrassed about the redness you can begin to be aware of some of your triggers when in social situations. For example I tend to avoid red wine at parties and events because I know it is a strong trigger for me. There is nothing like having a beautifully made up face and then a flame red neck right underneath it! I reserve the red wine for when I’m gathering with friends and family at home.
Here are some before and after photos after a couple weeks using Dermakalm Rosa Cream. I am pleased with the reduction in redness and look forward to seeing continued improvement. Looking past my giant new hormonal breakout I see the most difference in my chin area.
