The Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencils are a 2-in-1 cubby stick product that can be used as a shadow or a liner. It comes in 10 shades of which I have 3 to share with you. It is a creamy gel formula that allows you about 20-30 secs of blending time prior to setting. It’s a nice amount of time that doesn’t have you stressing out over manipulating it before it sets.
- Crystal Flame is a sheer metallic white.
- Silver Flame is a medium opacity sparkling grey.
- Red-Hot Flame is a deep warm red with subtle sheen. It has the best pigmentation of the three I tested.
I found these applied a little too sheer and patchy overall to be used alone. Once set they are quite budgeproof with the exception of a small amount of creasing. Where I think they really excel is as a base for powder eyeshadows. Used in this manner it will keep your eye look looking vibrant all day with no creasing or fading. Crystal Flame also works well to brighten the inner corner of the eye. You can create an amazing on trend for fall red/burgundy smoky eye by layering Red-Hot Flame under a red, burgundy, or wine coloured eyeshadow on the lid and intensifying the outer corner and lashline with Silver Flame topped with a black or charcoal shadow.
The Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencils ($9.99 CAD) are available now at mass retailers and pharmacies nationwide.
