The new Burberry Cashmere Fluid Foundation ($54 US/$60 CAD) is very aptly named. This liquid foundation offers medium to full coverage with a cashmere soft matte effect. It’s a beautiful satin matte finish with a natural radiance. The formula is touted as being weather proof. Performing through, and protecting from, rain, humidity and pollution. I haven’t had the opportunity to test out these claims as the humidity here I think is finally abolished for fall. I do find this foundation lasts the day for me with minimal fading. Sometimes I find my dry skin can “eat” foundation and that hasn’t been an issue with the new Cashmere.

The cap has a matte finish compared to the more reflective cap of the Burberry Fresh Glow foundation.
It is available in 14 shades and I have been testing out the lightest shade, Porcelain. This is a bit dark for my skin but is quite workable. I did find that it oxidized on me the one day I applied it over a facial oil but I have not experienced that issue over my moisturizers.

Now on to two of my favourite new products in my beauty bag. I wasn’t expecting to like these but buy am I glad I tried them. The new additions to the Burberry Beauty lineup are convenient twist up pencils for contouring and highlighting.
The Burberry Face Contour Effortless Contouring Pen for Face & Eyes ($39 CAD) is my favorite new contouring product. It is available in two shades; Medium No. 1 and Dark No. 2. I tested Medium. At first glance I thought it might be a little too warm for contouring on my complexion but I was surprised to discover it actually seemed to get cooler on my skin once blended. Quite the opposite of what usually happens to cosmetics on fair skin tones.

I was worried that when blending into my skin with a brush it would disturb my foundation but it didn’t at all. It blends in so effortlessly and gives such natural, yet effective, results.
Shown below is the Burberry beauty recommended application technique for contouring cheekbones. I also find the shape of the pen makes it absolutely perfect for contouring the eyes and nose (shown below right).

The Burberry Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen ($37 US/$39 US) is the epitomy of subtle, sophisticated highlighting. It has a translucent finish with a subtle glowing sheen that doesn’t look glittery or sparkly. The finish is gorgeous. I find this pen really excels at highlighting areas like the cupids bow, bridge of the nose, and tip of the nose. I find I need to be a little more careful with this to avoid disrupting my foundation on the top of my cheekbones.
