The Spring 2014 Clarins Opalescence Collection has some stunning new products to ease your way into spring. I am mesmerized by the stunning packaging on the Limited Edition Face and Blush Powder. It has the most amazing holographic opalescent top on the compact. I have a selection of items from the collection to share with you. There is also a Limited Edition Vibrant Light Eye Quartet and new permanent Cream Blushes released with the collection as well. I am so interested in the cream blushes. If you have tried them please let me know your thoughts on them in the comments.
The Limited Edition Face & Blush Powder ($40 CAD) is a smooth matte powder that has a soft finish that doesn’t look at all powdery or chalky. The powder consists mainly of a light peach base with accents of coral and brown. The gold seen is just an overspray that is very easily removed. You can build up this powder to use as a blush or contour but I find it is best used all over the complexion. It even works on my fair skin this way when applied lightly. Applied a little more heavily I can achieve a more natural sun kissed effect on my skin. I think what makes this beautifully designed collectors palette release unique is that it has a matte finish. It’s something we don’t see often enough.
There are three new permanent shades of the Clarins Joli Rouge Perfect Shine Sheer Lipstick ($27 CAD) being released with the collection. This is my first experience with this formula and WOW do I ever love it! It is so glossy. It offers a nice amount of sheer pigment and has a light fruity scent. It feels more like a lip balm than a lipstick. It is so hydrating with all the lip care ingredients. I love having the shine and transparency of a gloss with the convenience and feel of a balmy lipstick. The shade shown is 21 Pink Orchid. The other two shades are 19 Tropical Pink and 20 Coral Tulip.
The collection also includes a two new permanent shades of Gloss Prodige ($ CAD) 11 Coral Tulip and 12 Crystal. Crystal is a completely clear gloss without shimmer. I’m not a fan of clear glosses myself but if you are then you will love the Gloss Prodige formula which has a smooth gel finish and is non sticky. You can see in the swatches below that the Joli Rouge Lipstick is so glossy that you can’t even see a real difference adding the clear gloss on top.
There is a new permanent shade of Clarins Mineral Eye Shadow ($22 CAD) released with the collection called Smokey Plum. It is a smokey grey plum taupe. Lovely and complex. It applied with nice pigmentation and shimmer dry and more metallic when applied wet.
I already introduced you to the Clarins Instant Light Radiance Booster in Rose ($37 CAD) in my Top Ten Tuesday Top 10 Primers post. This opalescent pink translucent fluid feels hydrating and gives skin a lovely radiance. It feels really light and I adore the finish of the Rose shade. This is a new permanent product released with the spring collection and it also comes in Champagne and Peach. I am dying to see how the other shades look.
