The Clarins Fall 2017 Graphik Collection is all about the eyes. The collection features a new carbon black liquid liner and smokey shadows.
The Clarins Graphik Ink Liner ($30 CAD) offers intense rich black colour with a subtle sheen. It is applies smoothly and fluidly for intuitively effortless results. The formula isn’t waterproof, it removes really easily, but it is very long wearing and budge-proof. Since the formula is very fluid it does bleed out into lines if you have crepey eyelids like I do so it is best to make sure you’ve used and eye primer and applied shadow to help reduce the migration.
The Clarins 4-Colour Eyeshadow Palette in 06 Forest ($45 CAD) is really lovely. I’m not usually one for greens but these green hues lean cool and gray for a very flattering effect on the eyes. The first shade in the palette is pink satin with an almost iridescent quality. It is really pretty on the inner corner and browbone areas. The second shade is the lighter shimmering green that looks stunning on the lid. The third shade is a dark matte grey that works great as a liner or to really amp up the contour of the eye and outer corner. The fourth shade is a dark shimmering green that looks beautiful on the outer third of the lid. I was actually surprised to discover, that even with it’s shimmery finish and depth of colour, it blended out nicely in the crease.
The overall effect is sultry and smoky. The Clarins shadow formula features Carnauba wax powder for long wearing comfort. They blend together effortlessly so it’s always a pleasure using these quads.
I love the Clarins Ombre Matte ($26 CAD) formula and the two new permanent shades 09 Ivory a luminous yellow leaning ivory, and 10 Midnight Blue a pearly dark blue with a brightened quality. Yes these are Ombre Mattes but they do have a glowing quality. The formula has the smoothness of a cream with the wear and look of a powder. They apply beautifully with both brushes and fingers.
The limited edition Clarins Blush Prodige in 09 Golden Pink ($33 CAD) is so gorgeous! It’s an incredibly flattering pink shade with a golden iridescence. I was worried at first the golden sheen would be too strong for my preferences but it looks naturally radiant on the skin and not as intense as it appears in the pan.
The Clarins Lipliner Pencil ($26 CAD) in the new shade 05 Roseberry (a tender pink) is the perfect companion to the new shade of Clarins Joli Rouge Lipstick ($28 CAD) in 755 Litchi which is a glossy warm pink. I love the look of this lipstick and I think it is perfect shade to start using right now. The rich, moisturizing formula and glossy shine of the Joli Rouge lipsticks makes it a favorite lipstick formula of mine. The inclusion of organic marsh samphire and mango oil makes these lipsticks very comfortable and nourishing. I am also a big fan of the lip pencils as the offer a great balance of firmness and creamy smooth glide. The formula includes Jojoba oil for added comfort.
A new release from Clarins that isn’t part of the Fall colour collection is the Clarins Daily Energizer Lovely Lip Balm ($18 CAD). This limited edition lip balm is enriched with a moisturizing plant cocktail, organic cocoa butter, and shea oil for a heavenly feel on the lips. It has a light, melting texture and the moist delicious peach scent that makes it addicting to use. It also gives lips a very subtle pH adjusting personalized tint. The ecological and organic designed packaging is also super fun.
