I do a lot of driving. It’s a necessity living where I live. When I come into Toronto for media events it can be especially stressful. You know how it is. City driving can be tricky. Traffic can be a nightmare, and finding a place to park can be impossible. Add in the huge amount of pedestrian and bike traffic and you have to be on the ball all the time. I know for me, what makes my time in the car so much more fun, and keeps my stress level in check, is some great tunes. Having your favorite music playing while you drive is the best way to turn any outing into a mini party. Whether you like listening to soothing music to help you relax, or fun music to pump you up, music is the perfect partner to any road trip or city drive.

When I am city driving, or driving anywhere, my favorite kind of music to listen to lately has been 80’s and 90’s hip hop and R&B. The music brings back great memories, puts me in a great mood, and always has me happy and dancing and singing along in my car. Do I look like a crazy lady jammin away in my car with the base pounding? Maybe. But who cares. I love it! Check out my playlist of some of my favorite tunes. You can even make your own playlist.

City driving is so much nicer when you’re in a new Toyota with the music playing. Toyota has partnered with 8Tracks to develop a soundtrack to the Towards Tomorrow Event. Check out the Towards Tomorrow playlist and play it on your way to visit this amazing event going on at Square One in Mississauga. See below for full details!

If you missed my last post on the Towards Tomorrow Event then here is a little recap. It is located at the Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauge from March 5th to May 31st, 2016 and its such a fun setup. You can learn more here.
The event spotlights Toyota’s selection of City Savvy vehicles with some really neat interactive activities. You can check out the Prius, RAV4 Hybrid, Prius c, and Scion iM. If you love checking out new vehicles but can sometimes feel nervous dealing with salespeople at a dealership, then you will love this environment. There are no salespeople present and no pressure! Just helpful CSR reps there to answer any questions you may have and handy tablets available to browse all the info and options available for the vehicles.
There are really neat interactive activities like the Virtual Reality Driving Station and the Digital Art Installation as well as a Photo Booth. I encourage you to take a look at my last post to see the kind of shenanigans I got up to at the preview event! Even if you don’t think it is something you would enjoy I recommend popping by when you are shopping because they have these really cool charging stations set up for your phone where you can safely lock your phone away to charge while you keep the key and experience what the event has to offer. There’s even a great kids area set up where your kids can play and even enter their colouring contest.
Toyota has also partnered with local businesses across the GTA to offer guests special perks and offers to say thank you for visiting Towards Tomorrow by Toyota. These Keys to the City booklets will be given out to lucky visitors who participate in the in-event experiences, engage with the vehicles, or brand ambassadors. Inside you will find the following offers:
- Pure Spirits Oyster House and Grill – Six (6) free oysters with the purchase of an entrée
- Infinite Yoga – Enjoy a free class with a friend
- Total Cleanse – Access to a secret juice menu and 20% off any juice cleanse
- Lost Canada Escape Room – 30% off admission and group photo taken for sharing
There’s also chances to win 100,000 Aeroplan Miles at the event!
Looking to know more about the vehicles highlighted at the event? Here are some great features of the cars I checked out while I was at the preview:

The 2016 Toyota Prius not only looks sexy with it’s sleek design and low profile but the reduced drag also improves fuel efficiency. It is perfect for the progressive and savvy driver with it’s innovative technology including Toyota Safety Sense, Qi wireless charging, and regenerative braking that saves fuel. It’s a surprisingly roomy car. I love it in red!

The RAV4 has sure come a long way! This 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is perfect for those weekend drives to the cottage with it’s hybrid fuel efficiency, combined with large cargo and passenger capacity, power rear lift gate, and on demand AWD. It has a really luxurious and modern look with it’s 18” wheels, grille, premium interior materials, heated steering wheel, heated seats, and 7” touch audio screen. Performance focused car lovers will be impressed with the sport tuned suspension, more horsepower with better acceleration than the gas model, and Birds Eye View Monitor.

My favorite car there was the beautiful lime green 2016 Toyota Prius c. The picture doesn’t do the colour justice. It is such a stylish little car and is sure to turn heads. Perfect for your jet setting city lifestyle with it’s ease of manoeuvrability and amazing fuel efficiency. You would be surprised just how roomy this little car is. Even with the front seats all the way back there is still a lot of leg room in the back for rear passengers.

The Scion iM is a sporty little hatchback comes loaded with standard features like an exterior body kit, aggressive 17-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, and LED tail lights, piano black grille, and a chrome-tipped exhaust. There is no need to modify this baby aftermarket. It has rear double-wishbone suspension for a smooth ride and easy handling. The electric blue colour is to die for.
You can find the Towards Tomorrow by Toyota at Square One Mississauga between March 5th to May 31st, 2016. I highly recommend checking it out next time you’re in the area. Or why not make a trip to Square One just to visit. It is such an amazing, and HUGE mall!
