I don’t usually get too excited about Halloween. I know… you’d think as a makeup artist it would be my favourite time of year. I have no idea why it’s never been my thing. I am totally digging the China Glaze Halloween 2013 Monster’s Ball Collection though because it has some amazing Halloween appropriate shades that don’t have to just sit on the shelf the rest of the year.

Howl You Doin’ is a sheer purple base with small purple and red hex glitter as well as some copper fleck glitter. It is fairly sheer so 3 coats are required for an optimal finish. The swatch below is 2 coats with no topcoat. I really like the effect of this shade. The deep purple and mix of glitter is really fun and is far prettier than my photo represents.

Bump in the Night is AMAZING. It is a super glossy and opaque black with texture. The swatches below are just one coat! I am so in love with this polish! The contrast of texture with the glossy finish is beautiful.

Boo-gie Down is a really fun combo of black, white, gold, and copper hex glitter in a wide variety of sizes from super small to very large. There is also a sparse amount of long black bar glitter. You will get a very different effect on each nail given the variety of glitter in this polish. Swatches below are two coats shown over black and then orange.

There are a total of six shades available in this limited edition collection that is available this month, October 2013.

- Howl You Doin’: Shadowy purple glitter
- Bat My Eyes: Ominous gold glitter
- Boo-Gie Down: Multi-sized orange, black and white glitter
- Fang-Tastic: Mysteriously mixed up green, blue and magenta glitter
- Bump In The Night: Hair-raising black texture
- Ghoulish Glow: Glow-in-the-Dark top coat
