Here are some pictures and swatches of the items I purchased from Chanel’s Les Fleures d’Ete de Chanel Summer 2011 collection. Overall I’m very pleased with the collection. Being so fair I’m not usually attracted to a lot of the very bronzey summer collections but this season has had many offering for us pale gals!
Soleil Tan de Chanel in Bronze Rose is a lovely bronzer/blush. I love that I can skip blush altogether and use this bronzer for both purposes with a lovely result. It is glowy without being overly shimmery. But glitterphobes beware. There is a fine shimmer to this product.
Originally I was going to skip all the Glossimers after hearing they were sheer but ended up caving and getting Pensee and Aurore. Pensee did turn out to be a disappointment to me unfortunately. I found it very sheer doing almost nothing for my lips besides leaving gold glitter behind as it wore off. Aurore on the other hand is gorgeous as a lipstick topper and even on it’s own despite it’s sheerness. It has a beautiful golden peachy glow too it.
The Lilium quad is quite lovely and very wearable. The colors are fairly pigmented and don’t really require any building for a nice color payoff. They work and blend very well together. I did experience a bit of fallout from the fine sparkles in the shadows however but I’m a glitterphobe and a little more sensitive to this. It wasn’t bad enough to prevent me from wearing it again. This picture is very color accurate so I won’t bore you with my interpretation!
Rose Platine liner is very pretty taupe. It is lovely to line under the eyes with as well as the lower waterline. I do find it too sheer to line the upper lash line with as I find it seems to be mostly fine shimmer without much of a base color.
I also ordered Morning Rose Le Vernis which I will feature later 😉
Here are swatches of all the products. Bronze Rose is first. Each shade individiually then mixed together. Next one swipe of Rose Platine liner separates Bronze Rose from the Lilium quad followed by Pensee and Aurore Glossimers. All pictures can be clicked to enlarge them.
Here is my look of the day featuring all of my Chanel Summer 2011 goodies! The only product I used on top of my foundation (Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua) was Bronze Rose. On my lips I wore Peregrina Rouge Coco from the Spring Collection under Aurore Glossimer.
