The final item I picked up from the Les Essentials de Chanel collection was the Rouge Coco in 45 Caractere. Chanel describes this as a rose brown. I would be more inclined to describe it as a plum brown emphasis on the plum.
I’ve been a long time fan of the Rouge Coco formula. I know some find it to be drying but I have never found it drying on my lips. I like that it doesn’t have slip and stays put and comfortable.
I’m not quite decided on how I feel about Caractere. While I adore the shade I am not overly fond of the flat gold micro shimmer it contains. The effect is subtle but it is the “flat” type of small shimmer that I don’t tend to be a big fan of. I have no idea if any of you know what the heck I’m talking about when I say that but those are my thoughts. 😉 It’s the same sort of flat micro shimmer that bothers me in Guerlain Meteorites.
The finish is a touch dull but adding a touch of Troublant Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss is perfection! Sometimes I feel too lazy for two steps though. 😉
I purchased this online from Neiman Marcus.
