Peels used to be something reserved exclusively for a visit to the spa. Skincare has come such a long way and you can now treat yourself to effective, yet safe, peel treatments in your own home. Exfoliation is such an essential part of of your skincare routine and these beautiful at home treatments will have your skin looking bright and beautiful and even help you get more out of the rest of your skincare routine.

The Philosophy The Microdelivery Detoxifying Oxygen Peel ($62 US/$89 CAD) is a two step peel that combines a purifying mask with a brightening oxygen facial. Active charcoal detoxifies your skin and preps it for an oxygen complex featuring barley leaf extract for for healthy, glowing skin. The kit contains:
- Step I: Detoxifying Charcoal Gel (2 oz)
- Step II: Oxygen Foam Booster (2 oz)

The Ole Henriksen Power Peel Professional Strength Microdermabrasion/AHA Peel System ($ US/$60 CAD) is a 3 step home peel system that comes in handy individual packets. Each three step facial includes an Almond Polish to exfoliate away dry skin to prep for the second step, a Lemon Strip. The Lemon Strip flash peel is a 20% AHA complex buffered by algae extract to offer an effective, yet gentle, acid peel to help reduce the look of lines, pores, and hyperpigmentation. You then add the Chamomile Comfort mask to the Lemon Strip to calm and neutralize the skin with soothing chamomile and primrose oil.

There are six cards that each include a packet for all 3 steps. I love the idea of all the stages of the treatment being on one handy card and individually packaged to preserve freshness. I found the amount in the pods to be very generous though and you can easily get two applications out of each pod. I wish they had of done 12 treatments with less product as it seems wasteful to have so much extra product left after a treatment. I end up saving half of each pod and sealing in a ziplock bag for another use.
There are also two Professional Cleansing Sponges included with the kit. They look like thin little wafers but when you add water they plump up into a beautiful sponge. It really helps remove the mask and adds a little added touch of gentle manual exfoliation.
This treatment leaves my skin looking fresh, radiant, and refined. I love how pampering it feels to complete a three stage peel at home. I recommend ensuring you get the Chamomile Comfort mask applied on all areas where you applied the Lemon Strip flash peel. I missed some areas on the perimiter of my face and experienced some redness after because the peel was not neutralized in those areas for the remainder of the treatment. This kit contains:
- 6 Packettes x 0.10 oz Almond Polish
- 6 Packettes x 0.10 oz Lemon Strip
- 6 Packettes x 0.10 oz Chamomile Comfort
This may not be a peel, but I also wanted to mention another beautiful new mask from Ole Henriksen. The Ole Henriksen Truth Sugar Glow Polishing Mask ($42 US/$55 CAD) is a decadent blend of raw sugar and, pomegranate seeds, honey, rose hips, and pumpkin extract to polish, exfoliate, hydrate, and brighten.

This is such a sweet and beautiful mask that feels like a true indulgence.

The Dr Renaud Peel Pads ($69 CAD) are a great way to incorporate the benefits of a peel into your daily routine. These gentle, pre-moistened pads contain AHAs, fruit acids, and Vegetal Proteolytic Enzymes to reveal younger looking, more luminous skin.

The Ellen Lange Retexturing Peel Kit ($79 US) was one of the original at home peels and continues to build a loyal following. It is the peel I’ve tried that most closely replicates a professional peel experience. The system includes a Peel Prep, Peel Accelerator Pads, as well as a Glycolic Peel Solution that gives the coolest foaming action. The unique combination of glycolic acid, special enzymes, and microbeads work to exfoliate, reduce fine lines, minimize pore size and blemishes, and improve skin tone and texture.
