The Benefit Real Cheeky Party Blushing Beauty Kit ($42 US/$54 CAD) for Holiday 2015 is one of the season’s gifting must haves. If you missed out on last year’s Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot Box o’ Blushes then you will want to get your hands on this set before it sells out. I’m not sure if they are more prepared for the demand this year, since last year’s kit sold out so quickly, but better safe than sorry.
The packaging is so fun this year. Bright green and pink with a polka dot party theme. The palette is a very sturdy tin and the products are set into a thick foam base.
The Real Cheeky Party Blushing Beauty Kit contains the same blushes as last year with the omission of Bella Bamba. In Bella Bamba’s place is a mini They’re Real! Mascara and They’re Real! Push-Up Liner, both in black. This years kit once again contains a little sample size Watt’s Up! cream highlighter. Do you need this if you have the kit from last year? Probably not. Unless of course you are starting to hit pan and run out.
The full contents of the set are:
- they’re real! mascara deluxe sample | 0.36 g Net wt. 0.1 oz.
- they’re real! push-up liner deluxe sample | 3.0 g Net wt. 0.1 oz.
- dandelion medium | 4.0 g Net wt. 0.14 oz.
- watt’s up! small | 1.5 g Net wt. 0.05 oz.
- sugarbomb medium | 6.0 g Net wt. 0.21 oz.
- hoola medium | 5.0 g Net wt. 0.17 oz.
- CORALista medium | 5.0 g Net wt. 0.17 oz.
- rockateur medium | 5.0 g Net wt. 0.17 oz.
As far as how the blushes in the kit compare to the original Benefit boxed blushes, the formulations on the 2015 kit retain the same differences that were seen with the 2014 kit. For the most part the shades, finishes, and colour payoff compare to the original blushes with one glaring exception. Coralista is again a much more soft orange coral shade compared to the original boxed Coralista which is a much more vibrant pink toned coral. Rockateur again has the same difference in finish with the original having more of an iridescence to it but the shade is pretty much identical swatched. Since this years’ shades are so comparable to the 2014 set you can visit my Cheeky Sweet Spot review to see pictures of the gift set blushes next to their boxed blush counterparts.
Below are swatches of the 2014 Cheeky Sweet Spot version on the left, 2015 Real Cheeky Party in the middle, and original boxed blushes on the right.
If you have any makeup lovers on your list then I highly recommend gifting this set. It is amazing and such a great value. I also really love the packaging this year. It is a little less bulky then last year’s, which I ended up depotting.
You can find the kit at Sephora, Macy’s, and BenefitCosmetics.com.
