I’ve said it so many time, eyelid primers are a MUST. I cringe at the thought of the number of years I wasted with lacklustre eye looks before I discovered eyeshadow primers. Well thankfully the popularity of eyelid primers is continuing to grow, and more and more quality options are appearing on the market. My latest discovery, and love, is the new Benefit Air Patrol BB Cream Eyelid Primer ($29 US/$38 CAD). I am so excited about this product because it is so much more than just an eyeshadow primer.
The Benefit Air Patrol is not only formulated to enhance and lock on eyeshadow but it also hydrates with shea butter, color corrects, and PROTECTS. It contains the EnviroDefend complex to help guard eyelids against environmental stresses like pollutants, smoke, and sun. And the MOST EXCITING part? It has SPF 20! Yes effective sun protection for your eyelids that doesn’t burn or sting eyes or make them water.
The product is very lightweight and has a soft yellow tint to help color correct discolouration and redness of the eyelid. It doesn’t offer coverage though so the color correction is rather subtle.
It is packaged in a click pen style and has a Cushion Calmâ„¢ tip that is designed to be even softer and gentler than your pinkie finger. I find I still apply the primer with my eyelids out of habit but the applicator does feel lovely and work well.
I am absolutely loving this eyelid primer because it really does it all. Hydrates and protects my eyelids, all while making my eyeshadow look more amazing and last all day. All around win. I only wish it wasn’t in click pen style packaging as I would exactly control the amount of product dispensed via a squeeze tube which still could be used with the same applicator tip. Maybe in the future they will switch up the packaging.
