Exciting news for my fellow Canadians! If you have been longing to try the belif skincare products as I have then you will be delighted to hear that belif is now available at THE FACE SHOP! If you aren’t familiar with belif they are a brand that combines 19th-century apothecary techniques with Korea’s intricate skin care regimens. The products feature effective formulas and pure ingredients powered by both modern skin science and traditional herb processing methods. I was so excited to finally try some products from the range and I have been impressed with every single one of them.

belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb ($38 US/$47 CAD) This is my favourite product from belif. I only have about 1/4 of the jar left. I have been using this beautiful moisturizer both morning and night. It is richly nourishing and hydrating while not being greasy or sticky. This means that I enjoy it just as much as a night cream as I do using it under my makeup during the day. I honestly don’t think I will be without this cream from this point forward. Even if I am experimenting with other products I know I will always come back to this, at least once and a while. While it hasn’t magically and completely eradicated the dryness of my skin, what it has done is hydrated it, and healed it, more than any other cream I have tried to date. I love that this cream formulation includes less silicone and alcohol than the gel version that, I think, is more popular.
The intense formula is clinically tested to provide up to 26 hours of moisture. It contains a blend of apothecary herbs, including comfrey leaf, which is a powerful hydrating agent. Why is it called Moisturizing Bomb? Well the cushiony cream is formulated to ‘burst’ when applied, releasing a flood of moisture onto skin. I can’t say I’ve felt any bursting but what I do experience is supple smooth skin from a formula that absorbs fully into the skin for long lasting moisture.

belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb ($38 US/$47 CAD). If you have more normal to combo skin you will probably prefer the Aqua Bomb as it is a lighter mineral oil free gel cream formula. It feels refreshing and soothing on the skin yet still offers enough hydration to satisfy my dry skin. The formula features a blend of apothecary herbs, including antioxidant-rich lady’s mantle and Malachite to help neutralize skin damaging free radicals. Lady’s Mantile also offers pore minimizing benefits. The humectant Oat Husk attracts moisture, while Plantin creates a moisture seal on the skin. Like the Moisturizing Bomb, the Aqua Bomb is formulated to ‘burst’ when applied for a surge of moisture.

Overnight masks are probably one of my favorite skincare indulgences and the belif First Aid Overnight Brightening Mask ($34 US/$39 CAD) is a quick favorite. It has so many decadent ingredients to pamper skin and have you waking brightened and refreshed. Honestly this would just make a great everyday night cream. If I didn’t love the Moisturizing Bomb so much I would be using this almost every night. It is formulated with black truffle extract and visible capsules of amber, pearl, and gold powder to awaken, brighten, and illuminate the skin. Sounds pretty fancy huh! You can barely make out the little pearls in my pics but they are there and they disperse onto the skin when applied. I love how my skin feels, and looks, after a night wearing this mask.

If you are looking for a serum that will offer intense hydration along with antioxidant benefits then look no further than the belif Hungarian Water Essence ($42 US/$46 CAD). As you might suspect from the name, the Hungarian Water Essence has a thin watery consistency that my skin drinks up in an instant. The formula includes a blend of apothecary herbs like rosemary and lavender that offer both hydration and antioxidant protection. I mean just look at that ingredient list. My skin loves this stuff! My skin has seen such amazing results using this essence combined with the Moisturizing Bomb.
belif Hungarian Water Essence Ingredients: Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract, Salvia Officinalis(Sage) Leaf Extract, Melissa Officinalis Leaf Extract, Achillea Millefolium Extract, Peucedanum Graveolens (Dill) Extract, Alchemilla Vulgaris Extract, Rose Extract, Poncirus Trifoliata Fruit Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, *Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, *Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, *Nepeta Cataria Extract, *Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Leaf Extract, *Baptisia Tinctoria Root Extract, *Stellaria Media (Chickweed) Extract, +Alchemilla Vulgaris Leaf Extract, **Equisetum Arvense Leaf Extract, **Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Leaf Extract, **Plantago Lanceolata Leaf Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Triethylhexanoin, Tromethamine, Sclerotium Gum, Ammonium Acryloyldimethltaurate/Vp Copolymer, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Trisodium EDTA, ***Fragrance, Citronnellol, Limonene. *Napiers Original Formula. **Napiers Aqua Formula. ***Fragrances of Natural Origin.
Another product from belif that I have been using, a little less regularly than those listed about, is the belif Bergamot Herbal Extract Toner ($28 US/$34 CAD). The reason I’ve been using this less frequently than the other products is a) it’s formulated for normal to combination skin and b) I just keep forgetting. Even though this isn’t designed for dry skin I have not found it drying. The gel-liquid toner is actually formulated to hydrate and balance normal to oil skin so it actually hydrates while bergamot and sage clarify the skin.
belif Bergamot Herbal Extract Toner Ingredients: Water, Monarda Didyma Leaf Extract 8%, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat, Butylene Glycol, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Corchorus Olitorius Leaf Extract, Betaine, 1,2-Hexanediol, Methylpropanediol, Polyglutamic Acid, Beta-Glucan, Glyceryl Acrlate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, *Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, *Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, *Nepeta Cataria Extract, *Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Leaf Extract, *Baptisia Tinctoria Root Extract, *Stellaria Media (Chickweed) Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Panthenol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Glycereth-26, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, PEG/Ppg/Polybutylene Glycol-8/5/3 Glycerin, Peg/Ppg-17/6 Copolymer, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Caster Oil, Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin, Octyldodeceth-16, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Phenyl Trimethicone, Tromethamine, Trisodium EDTA, Fragrance**, Citronnellol, Limonene. *Napiers Original Formula. **Fragrances of Natural Origin.

I love that belif products are free of Mineral oil, Synthetic fragrance, Synthetic dyes, Synthetic preservatives, Parabens, Sulfates, Phthalates, and Animal-origin ingredients.
So is belif skincare really the bomb? For me, you bet it is! Have you tried the brand? Which products are your faves?
