I am a fragrance junkie. While I don’t consider myself any kind of expert in deciphering notes and breaking down a scent, I thoroughly enjoy experiencing new scents, exploring new notes, and testing my boundaries. I find the ritual of trying a new scent for the first time, and experiencing it’s evolution on my skin, intoxicating. At the same time I find the sensation of knowing I detect a note that is familiar, yet not being able to pinpoint it, very frustrating. But the more years that pass in my fragrance adventure the better I get, and the learning process is a thoroughly enjoyable one. You don’t have to be an expert in something to have a true passion for it. I encourage you to immerse yourself in something new and find your own passion. The fragrance community is certainly a warm and welcoming one!

Today I’ll be sharing with you 12 new scents that have been released in recent months. There are sure to be at least a few in this post you will enjoy falling in love with!

Let’s dig in. In no particular order:

I love the My Burberry Eau de Parfum that was released last fall and now for summer they have released the new My Burberry Eau de Toilette ($80 CAD/50ml). This is a great everyday scent. A floral that is elegant yet fresh.
The juice is a little lighter representing the brighter, fresher scent of the new EdT. It is the perfect summer scent that you can transition into fall and winter by switching to the EdP version. The cap and ribbon is a little more taupe toned on the new packaging while the original EDP is more tan.
- Top: sweet pea, lemon flower
- Heart: peonies, peach flower, freesia
- Base: damask rose, white moss, musk

I have mentioned the new Giorgio Armani Si Eau de Toilette (several times already this summer as it is probably my favourite summer scent. It is a lighter, more youthful, and fresher interpretation of the original Si. It is a fruity floral with hints of woodiness and spice.
The packaging is in the same style as the original but with gold trim instead of silver and with a pale pink cap in place of the original black.
- Top: Pear accord, Citrus, Sicilian bergamot, Mandarin, Blackcurrant liqueur
- Heart: Turkish Rose Absolute, Rose de Mai, Neroli, Egyptian jasmine, Freesia
- Base: Dry Woods, Patchouli, Woods, Amber, Orcanox, Vanilla

Marc Jacobs Mod Noir Eau de Parfum ($110 CAD/50ml) is a modern interpretation of a classic gardenia perfume. It’s a sophisticated floral that is quite different from most of the Marc Jacobs scents I have tried. You most certainly have to be a white floral fan to love this perfume because it is quite a bold white floral. I happen to love white florals so I can handle it but be warned. I know white florals can be a touchy category for some. This is a Sephora exclusive release.
The packaging is super fun (what Marc Jacobs fragrance packaging isn’t?). The top half is glossy black and white stripes while the bottom is a matte frosted finish.
- Top: Greens, Citrus
- Heart: Gardenia, Magnolia, Water Lily, Tuberose
- Base: Creamy Musks, Orange Blossom, Nectarine

There is a new Brit Rhythm for women. The new Burberry Brit Rhythm For Her Floral Eau de Toilette ($80 CAD/50ml) is promoted as being a powdery feminine fragrance with a rock and roll edge, and you know what, I think they actually pulled it off. The woody notes in this scent and the touch of citrus make for a lovely, and interesting, scent.
- Top: Orchard Fruit, Sicilian Lemon, Orange
- Heart: Egyptian Jasmine, Lotus Blossom, Dewy Lilac
- Base: Ambery Woods, Driftwood, Musk

I’m not a fan of sweet scents except, I have learned, when there is amber present. I have some scents I truly love that are amber heavy. While I haven’t really found myself attracted to any of the Juicy Couture fragrances I have tried in the past I am actually really digging this newest release. The Juicy Couture I am Juicy Couture ($89 CAD/50 ml) is a sweet fruity floral that speaks most predominately to me of amber, raspberry, and a bit of gardenia. The packaging is also pretty darn snazzy. Hmm colour me surprised. Maybe I really am Juicy Couture.
- Top: Raspberry, Pomelo, Passion Fruit
- Heart: Gardenia, Heliotrope, Rose de Mai, Sweet Pea
- Base: Musks, Cashmere Woods, Candied Amber

Azzaro Pour Elle Eau de Parfum ($70 CAD/50ml) is seductive, sexy. This woody oriental scent is magnetic thanks to the feminine floral solar burst combined with a seductive woody floral base. Woody and spicy while being feminine, soft, and sexy. This just keeps getting better the longer you wear it. The packaging is gorgeous. Obviously I can’t help loving something adorned with a glittery ribbon!
- Top: Cardamon, Citrus
- Heart: Rose, Lily
- Base: Olibanum Incense, Cashmere Wood

See by Chloe Si Belle Eau de Parfum ($90 CAD/50ml) is a beautiful soft white floral fragrance. I find some white florals can get quite heavy but I found this one light and fresh and perfect for summer. The bottle is inspired by a woman’s flowing pleated skirt.
- Top: Neroli, Birch Leaf
- Heart: Gardenia, Orange Blossom Accord
- Base: White Musk

Now how cool is this?! The new Marc Jacobs In Your Dreams Layering Collection ($90 CAD/set) includes a 50ml bottle of Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream along with two 1oml rollerball scents you can layer with or wear alone. Daydream heightens the airy floralcy of the blue wisteria note in Daisy Dream while Sweet Dream accentuates the sparkling effervescent of blackberry. The set is beautifully packaged and would make such a wonderful gift.
For a refresher on Daisy Dream, it is a lovely and dreamy fruity floral that wears mostly floral on my skin. The packaging is gorgeous and is adorned with white daisy cutouts that give it an airy, lace feel.
- Top: Blackberry, Grapefruit, Pear
- Heart: Jasmine, Lychee, Blue Wisteria
- Base: White woods, Musks, Coconut Water

Thierry Mugler Angel New Star Eau de Parfum ($158 CAD/75ml) is a new refillable version of the iconic sweet oriental vanilla Angel fragrance. Shown in the group shots above is the traditional refillable 25 ml bottle but you simply must check out the New Star version as it is a stunning work of art. Available at selected Hudson Bay stores.
- Top: Melon, Coconut, Mandarin Orange, Cassia, Jasmine, Bergamot, Cotton Candy
- Heart: Honey, Apricot, Blackberry, Plum, Orchid, Peach, Jasmine, Lily-of-the-Valley, Red Berries, Rose
- Base: Tonka Bean, Amber, Patchouli, Musk, Vanilla, Dark Chocolate, Caramel

The new Elizabeth Arden Always Red ($82 CAD/100ml) is a sensual and luxurious floriental fragrance. This is one of those scents that I just can’t stop smelling on myself. The sweetness of the praline and plum and the warmth of the amber are comforting and rich while the jasmine note is quite predominant for me (and I’m a huge jasmine fan). I haven’t tested this out around my husband yet to see if he’ll tolerate it as he can’t stand jasmine. He dislikes some of my most cherished scents.
- Top: Red Plum, Blood Orange, Passion Friut
- Heart: Jasmine Sambac, Rose Petals, Pink Freesia
- Base:Mahogany Woods, Red Amber, Praline

CLEAN Air Eau de Parfum ($79 CAD/60ml) is a light, airy woody floral. I’m not sure what the heck mountain air accord is but this actually does smell delightfully fresh and clean like mountain air. Soft musk and peonies are gently feminine.
- Top: Mountain Air Accord, Bergamot Blossoms, Lush Green Accord
- Heart: Sparkling Freesia, Powdered Aldehydes, Dewy Peony
- Base: Enveloping Musk, Cashmere Woods, White Amber

mark. Buenos Aires Vibe ($28 CAD/50ml) is a tropical fruity floral. This fun tropical scent is like a vacation escape in a bottle.
- Top: Passionfruit
- Heart: Violet
- Base: Musk
