The Dior Spring 2017 Colour Gradation Collection has so many new products in it that I am genuinely excited for. Why? Because they are new shades and incarnations of Dior products that I already adore.
I think the most exciting news is that Dior has released three new shades of Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer ($68 CAD). I have raved about the original Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer in 001 and now I have another shade that I love even more. The original 001 Shimmering Sculpting Powder is the most gorgeous pale golden champagne. It is truly stunning.
The new 002 shade is a breathtaking pale ivory pink shade. It is a neutral to warm pink hue rather than cool toned so it is incredibly flattering. I think it may surpass the original 001 as my new favourite.
Shade 004 is a beautiful deep rosy bronze. It’s not a warm orange toned bronze but more of a neutral shade. I am dying to see this on deeper skin tones. It has the same intense pigmentation and smooth, dreamy texture as shades 001 and 002 but I find this one to have a tiny bit of shimmer in it that the other shades don’t have. All have an incredible metallic sheen that can be applied softly for a more natural glow or built up to and impressive highlight without emphasizing skin texture. It is really an exquisite formula. While 004 is obviously too deep for use on my skin as a highlighter, I have been loving playing with it on my eyes. I don’t have shade 003 to share with you but it is a medium gold shade that will be so pretty on medium to tan skin tones.
The new Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer shades are exclusive to Sephora until May 2017.
The other items in the collection that set my heart a flutter were the Dior Addict Lip Scrub 001 ($41 CAD) and the Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm 006 Berry ($41 CAD). The Dior Addict Lip Glows are a staple in my collection. I don’t know what I would do without these. I usually have at least one of these in my handbag. When I don’t know what lip I want to throw on, or if I don’t really feel like wearing anything at all, I always turn to these. They are the most decadent tinted balms you can imagine. They are so hydrating and make the lips feel heavenly soft. The texture is so wonderful. It’s hard to describe. They aren’t sticky or waxy or greasy. They just feel GOOD. The colour adjusting tint they give the lips looks so healthy, radiant and juicy, and dimensional if that makes any sense. I simply adore them.
Having a new shade added to the range is always a welcome sight. The shade Berry is so beautiful. Still subtle but a bit more colour than the others I have. Love!
And a Dior Addict Lip Scrub? Yes please! This is so cool. It applies, feels, and looks like the traditional Lip Glow on the lips, with a subtle pink glow, but it has a very bumpy, exfoliating texture in the tube to give your lips a gentle scrub as you apply it. Genius.
There are some new shades of the Dior Rouge Dior Matte Lipstick ($35 US/$43 CAD) being released with the spring collection. If you haven’t tried this new matte lip formula from Dior that was released in 2016 I highly encourage you to give it a try. These are not the dry, stiff matte lipstick you are used to seeing. They really are hydrating and comfortable and have a flattering soft matte finish on the lips. You can read my full review here. The formula is enriched with mango butter, aroelat samphira, and hyaluronic acid spheres for a hydrating and plumping feel on the lips. I have three of the six new shades to introduce you to:
- 502 Radical Matte – This deep grey lipstick is a great way to alter the shade of other lipsticks or to create an interesting gradient effect. I thought at first this was the same grey shade seen when the new mattes were launched but that shade, 207 Montaigne Matte, is actually a much lighter grey.
- 745 Insolent Matte – This shade is named Insolent in my press material but Terrific in the tube. Whichever it is, it is lovely! This is such a wearable medium rosewood shade.
- 951 Absolute Matte – This is like the deeper, redder big sister rosewood hue to Insolent.
For eyes, the Colour Gradation palettes available in other parts of the world, are not available in North America for this collection. Dior suggests complimenting your new Spring product looks with the Carré Bleu quint shown or the Designer Navy palette for the Blue Gradation Look or for the Coral Gradation look you can turn to the Tutu and Trafalgar Quints shown below or the Montaigne palette or Amber Design palette.
The Dior Diorshow Pro Liner in 282 Pro Navy is the perfect liner to enhance your Blue Gradation spring colour eye look.

I think that lip balm formula is my cup of tea! And I’m intrigued by the lip scrubs as well. The highlighters are BEAUTIFUL, but with my shiny skin I never really highlight.
